Banwell Caves Heritage Group.
Work will shortly start to complete the decorative ceiling to the pebble summerhouse. In 2011 we hope to make good progress with the restoration of the osteoicon. We are sorry we have sold out of our illustrated booklets "A short history of Banwell Caves", but a new updated version will be available early in 2011.

The first Public Open Day for Banwell Caves in 2011 will be on Sunday 29th May from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Private visits can be organised for parties from 12 to 40 people, to complete an application form and for further information visit our website or e-mail David Shaw.

CHERT member achieves Grade 1 Violin and raises money for charity
Pip Osborne of CHERT has recently achieved the marvellous result of distinction in Grade 1 Violin and was awarded 140 marks out of a possible 150. What made this so remarkable was the fact that she had never played the instrument until exactly one week before the exam. She was not allowed to look at the set music until then either.

Pip undertook this as a sponsored challenge to raise money for St Margaret's Hospice in Yeovil in memo ry of a neighbour. She raised the amazing sum of £1,300.

NEAT Meetings - New venue
From May NEAT will now be meeting in a new venue at the new fire station on Pound Lane, Nailsea. The room is a modern meeting room with a PC and facility for Powerpoint shows and showing DVDs. There will be tea and coffee available. Dates for future meetings can be found on the diary page.

Treasures from the Earth Exhibition - Help needed!
North Somerset Museum, Weston-super-Mare will be delighted to host 'Treasures from the Earth', a touring archaeology exhibition aimed at raising awareness of and participation in archaeology in the South West particularly amongst local communities.
